Heat almost got us yesterday. We were moving some decks for our son. Hit 102° after lunch...felt pretty drained last night.
Ah yes. Forgot about the Jefferson Circuit. Neither the Jefferson Circuit nor the Shenandoah Circuit was constructed when I started visiting Summit frequently. I think Jefferson was as finished during the mid 90s (perhaps). Drove it once, but not officially. We sneaked on and drove a lap. Surprised nobody booted us. Anyway, only been back once since Shenandoah was finished. That said, now that you confirmed the corner location, I recognize it.
I honestly dont know how you do it under those conditions, but i guess you are used to it. I wouldnt last very long. It was in the upper 80's and humid here on Wednesday and it killed me at the score for only an hour and a half. It has since cooled to "normal" Fall conditions. Much better for making firewood.
Not used to it in October for sure. It was hot a couple weeks ago, 101° but 17% humidity, not as bad as Thursday with 37% humidity, very little shade. We survived to enjoy another day. I get cold pretty easy, when it's 15-20°, y'all be wanting to ...I'm wanting to...
Air temp, HI was like 113° or so. Deepstep GA I normally take a pic of the weather station, but was headed to get ready to go out for dinner. These two shots were from 9-25,26...
Holy cow, Jeff, I complain about the heat here, it's horrific but yours is just as bad, if not worse. Our humidity in the summer, along with high heat... it's just about unbearable. I am looking for a summer home. Elsewhere! I was complaining recently that last week it was 97 degrees in friggin October, and heck, your temp was 102! That's crazy. I, for one, do not deny global warming, lol. It has dang sure happened at my location. Year after year after year, keeps getting worse.
It has been a bit unusual to be that hot this late in the year. Had that high pressure area just hung around for days. At least it kept the hurricanes away.
Started splitting some of this yesterday. Forgot about the log with the bolt. Biggest ive ever seen in a split
Fire pit bound or did you split it out of the wood? Definitely a keeper, lol. Wait till ya burn this wood. It’s right up there with locust ime.
I split it out. Saw it and didnt saw it when i scored the wood. Im familiar with shags heat output. Locust is my new highest btu wood. Probably as i have never burned any before. The fact that it splits easily is a plus too! Ill keep the log as is for now and wont burn it!
