Was hoping to wait another couple weeks to fire up the P43 but after the house was 62* when I got up this morning and is supposed to get down to the low 30's again tonite I just now fired it up (46* out right now). House not sealed for the winter yet but ACs came out last week & storm windows all lowered so it'll be nice in here tomorrow when I get up. As I get older I find the chill really gets to the arthritis in my hands & knees more.

Oven all back up and doing it's thing.

Installed the new control/relay board and kicked it in the butt.

    All good.

Other than the nasty smell that the new element gave off from being handled and such

    Oily paw prints burning off

Bake setting ran right up to 350 F and the bell went DING.

    BROILER gets hot..hot..hot..hot

    All seems fine.

So now we can have steak again.....:thumbs::thumbs:

Home and Hearth in Hampton Falls now carries Wood and Sons. I tried them last year and they were phenomenal. Just to make sure they still are, I picked up 10 bags today. If they are, I'm springing for a ton.

    Anyone else use them?

Haven't tried them but I did notice looking at their web site they only have 4 brands they are selling right now- Wood & Sons, Vermont, Northern Warmth doug fir & Supreme northern warmth doug fir. They had a few more brands listed when I bought my supply in August.

I noticed that too. I usually burn Vermonts but these were so darned good I had to try them again. Wonder why they are carrying so few brands? Supply issues?

Well, that was short lived. I cycled the P61a again last night since the basement had gotten down to 64*. I went down a little while later and there was a severely lazy flame reaching for the glass. Considering it was just fine the night before (I had gone down there about midway thru the cycle to grab clothes out of the dryer so know that the flame was nice and crisp, and upstanding then.

Hmm, interesting. Can only figure that there is something in the OAK. Don't know how since it has a scree and I went outside to ensure nothing had sucked up there (nothing even remotely close anyway, so that would be a long shot). I shut it down and will mess with it later today. If I'd been thinking I should have removed the OAK to see if that had any affect on the flame.

Removed the OAK, and the flame is good. Now just to figure out what got in there, clear it out and try it out. That won't happe until this afternoon as I have a meeting to get to this morning.

Yes and they are just as good this year as last, the only difference is that pellets are a bit shorter. Seems all the manufacturers are going with shorter pellets now or all the ones I have tried with the exception of Matra and Cubex, like them a bit longer myself so they do not load so quick but just require a little bit of adjustment.

Be prepared to lower the fuel feed, as the overall amount of actual pellet mass going into the "pot" will increase.

    Not yet..

Only had it out 2 nights.
Getting cool, and late in the season.
Plus, it has rained a little a couple of nights,
and it turned the marshmallows into goo.
It's still out back.. we'll see.
Not worried too much if we come up empty, there is always
the better season next year. It'll get used..
