I stayed in some old WWII barracks during summer camp. There was a family of skunks under the porch and steps. It was common for us to hang out on those steps and porch in the evening and have some beverages. Well, that family would come and go. Sometimes someone would put some food out for them. Usually cat or dog kibble. Anyway, they came and went. We all saw them but made sure no one moved fast when they were active. Don't recall anyone ever getting sprayed. Just act like they weren't there. Don't they eat grubs etc?

I work nights at a large multi bldg. facility and I have exited bldgs. late at night and bumped a few skunks. Once one was right next to me, it was roaming under some shrubs and we nearly touched. My work buddy was freaked out, I froze and he/she waddled by. Racoon bit a guy the other night,it was in a outside trash receptacle and he stuffed some trash in there and the coon bit him and bolted. I kick the can before putting my hands in there and turn on my flashlight when exiting bldgs. this time of year.

Yeah, and way past any modern safety features (maybe why it was set up the way you expected?).

Yeah, they love grubs, which is why the skunk patrols my yard on a regular basis. And since I don't have a model yard as far as grass grows (its more weeds), and a lot of those grubs are for the yucky Japanese beetle, it doesn't bother me when the skunk turns over the turf and leaves divots.

They will also eat other bugs, rodents, snakes and frogs, as well as berries and nuts. They have quite the varied diet.

Started up the P61a to make sure it is still alive and kicking, and there are no leaks before I really need it. 65* downstairs so I turned on the thermostat and set it at 66*. Did discover that during my "spring clean" last month I forgot to clean the glass. I'll catch that sometime during the weekend. Plan on turning the thermostat back off after the stove finishes its cycle.

I don't care that much, I hate grass anyway - its only reason for existing is to provide exercise by mowing. I don't seed it, don't water it, don't fertilize it, and certainly don't use weed killer on it (or else most of it would die and then be replaed with more noxious weeds).

My 06 Silverado, which I bought new, just hit 94000 miles. The engine will last forever, but the body and underside are rusting out. My last truck lasted 18 years, and I think this one will go a couple more. Then, a new one, could very well be my last!

As far as safety goes....appliance can be wired in some weird ways....stuff that you simply can't do in home wiring.

Leaving out a FUSE to protect the system is criminal.

Just assures the company of business is all. AND MAYBE A HOUSE FIRE

The circuit breaker did not trip....

The control board became the fuse.

Got the new controller yesterday and snapped it into the panel.

Just need to lay the panel in the cradle and plug in all the wires.

SAY A PRAYER AND FLIP THE SWITCH

My '02 Trailblazer (actually took delivery of it on July 3, 2001), hit 250K in June, and still runs great (thank you to all the synthetic fluids in it). '16 Caddy doesn't get driven much (weekends, grocery store, etc.), and only has 34K on it. May be the last regular "car" I ever buy.

Got the new control board for the oven yesterday afternoon...

Snapped it into the panel and then decided to say phfffft until this morning when I was fresh.

    New board $190

In looking over the schematic I found taped to the panel (YESSSSSSS..SWEEET)

The is absolutely no protection for the board.
The L1 line feeds through the double line break relay and then through the thermal snap switch and then to the elements.

The one terminal on the board burnt the solder off poooof.

This kills the oven.....no 240 Volts.

I could have resoldered the burnt pin back to the PC trace.....but I can't see what else if anything was fried....

My little apprentice electrician was paying very good attention to the details too.
