I thought I would start a thread to share ways that we get blessed and then are able to help others. The GOOD LORD provides for us and expects us to share with those in need. HE gets all the GLORY. We were blessed with a big clean up job back in the spring, hauled 7 trailer loads of red, white oak and hickory home. The guy that gave us the wood told us about a cancer patient, could we cut her a load...of course... Later this summer, FB ad popped up, Free oak wood, about 3 miles away. Hooked up trailer and came home with this... we told the folks we had a good place to take some of that to. It was random length. Well we started Tuesday, my neighbor Mike and his mom rode over. We sorted through this load and cut 12-14" rounds for her stove. After lunch, we started on the logs we had cut for this project. Yesterday we had several members of our mission team at church come over, got trailer loaded in about 2 1/2 hrs The motley crew of workers. Our cheerleader and encourager, Miz Jean, Mike's mom. The delivery. She wasn't home when we were there. She called later, as we were all eating lunch. She shared her journey with us, and was so thankful. GOD IS SO GOOD.
Wish I could give your post a Love instead of a like. People helping others in need is God's plan. I applaud you and your group for the wonderful gesture.
"The GOOD LORD provides for us and expects us to share with those in need. HE gets all the GLORY." Ain't that the truth!
Beautiful gesture Jeff. And a stacked trailer, not just thrown? Certainly above and beyond. You in trouble with the Lord?
One should never give until it hurts, rather one should give until it feels good. You end up giving more if it feels good.
T.Jeff Veal Great Job! Giving is its own blessing to the giver. A gift of firewood is even more so for a hoarder. I am looking forward to a "wood ministry" project we are doing here in a few weeks. If it goes the way we hope, we'll be helping a home owner get rid of some trees they want gone, and be able to give the wood to multiple folks that can't do it for themselves. It is a great way for us to get the youth involved too. Thanks for sharing! Thankful for the witness.
Haha, glad HIS MERCIES are new each day... Had the wood cut for her length, trying to get it all on there, still have about a pick up load left for her.
I hope all goes well with your project too. If we coy have scheduled it for a Saturday, we would have had more help. Worked out great though. My brother and his wife, standing next to Miz Carol and I, were down from North GA, helping check on mama in the hospital, got to help. We don't usually get to spend much time together.
Please Share some pictures of y'all's project. There was another wood ministry up north that was posted last year, I think. Maybe bear 1998 , Scotty Overkill may have helped. Love to see others pictures.
