So many awesome little places. I can't imagine how much better it must be now without the big crowds. As for the other parts of the island, far from Bar Harbor, I loved going for morning drives solo while my wife slept in to check them out. So many awesome little coves stuffed with boats in the morning fog. It was a photographers dream.

More rain overnight and still raining. Looks like it will be raining for quite some time. Maybe time to buy a boat.

Water is down , he's been doing what he could the last couple days but it works for less time each time til last night only a few minutes. Time to call a plumber. Dishes and laundry backed up and I need a shower "welcome to my home, I'm over here behind the pile of dishes " :binoculars:.

Just a late word of advice. I haven’t been anywhere near Acadia nor have any plans to do so. Triple pricing for everything and 90000 out of staters. No place to park without running a marathon to get to town. I’m Happy people go there and not the good places, MDI as a whole is a tourist trap that I avoid like the plague.

In Tom Hanks in "Castaway" movie

    I
    HAVE
    WATER!!

Need new cistern or more soon, but atleast I can get us functioning again :) Flush and clean toilets, dishes and run a couple loads of laundry, and though kiddo squeeked out a bath last night, us parents will be grateful for shower.

    Glad you have water again.

I'd have issues living where I'd have to truck water in.

You were about to be a Castaway without a shower.

lines- new cistern needs wait so thinking trying a whole house sediment filter. Suppose I can put in a 3/4" whole house sediment filter on a +/- 1.25" w reducers ?

Oh the cruise ships still arrive, 2 a day. Stewmans went from slammed, to near silent after the cruise ship party had to depart at 9 pm. The locals are not happy about the cruise ships. I can't disagree. Uglyass ship in the harbor, clogging up the natural beauty and clogging up the town.

Look at this ugly monstrosity. That's bar harbor straight ahead. 20190930_132601_HDR.jpg

4.23" the other day. A town a little north of us got over 6" in 24 hrs.

Eh, it's not that bad. MDI has it's hidden gems that not even all the locals know. But, that said, it was the off season, and the crowds I saw were probably miniscule compared to stupid season. Timing is everything.

You can, but it may restrict flow a bit...and might clog faster than it is supposed to...of course 1.25" lines sound oversize for a single house, so it may be just fine...

Huh. I have not seen a single cruise ship in my two visits up there. First time was a week, second was 5 days.

I totally get the locals being unhappy! I love the busy harbor of moored fishing boats, even a few mega yachts at the town dock down the street from Stewmans, but no way to the cruise ships!

The cruise ships are a fairly new thing. They just signed a new 5 year deal. The owner of the dock gets a fee for every passenger. Locals are not happy.
