Still 55 here. I fired up the stove tonight just to make sure it worked after the big cleaning. Everything worked perfectly which is what I expected. The wife and I are leaving tomorrow with the motorhome and car in tow for Cape Cod to visit a childhood friend. Of course we have been in a freakin' drought for weeks and it's gonna rain the whole time we're down there. Oh well. Looks like by the time I get back, I may need the stove.

I work in the cold all day. The days have been warm, but the nights are chilly. I lit the stove once, not to heat the house, but just to sit in front of, have a couple beers, and warm my aging bones!

With September in the books...we logged some record breaking coldest HIGH temps here in the past few days.

Been running the Small stove off and on since earlier in the month.

These past few days have seen lows in the 30's and the Big stove was needed.

This morning we have both going...at least for a short time.

The wee stove was giving it's all last night...but with the outside temps in the mid 30's F this tiny stove can't deal with it.

I was 67 in the dinning/living room area where the wee stove is...
the east end of the house ...family room and bed rooms were much cooler.

Fired off the Big Whit at 4:30 am and things are getting cozy now....

The cold snap is moderating now and we should be a bit closer to normal seasonal temps soon...

The forecast still shows below normal....but a tad warmer.

We should be in the 70's F this time of year.. made 54 F yesterday in the early afternoon.

Wow....and winter is still coming ...

    Sapposed to be here today..

BTW... most people claim to have good luck with the marshmallows..
Skunks and possums seem to like those. I have both of those roaming..
If you use tuna or some other bait,
your are likely to catch your neighbor's cat.
Which if it doesn't stop using my bark mulch
as a litter box, will be fine with me.

Dan did you also get a gas mask with that trap? Skunks can be big stinkers.
