One of the things on my list of things to do with the new to me Accentra was to paint the stove. It's a nice Forest Green and has some stains and bare spots as well as some residue from something that melted onto the door at some point. I was going to remove the stove from the house but nixed that idea 'cause it was a royal pain to bring it in and I didn't want to do that again. Today I got the bright idea to remove the door. I removed all the latching hardware and taped up the glass. After sanding and washing with Acetone I put four coats of paint on it. I cleaned and greased the latching hardware and polished the handle. It's back on the stove now and looks great! I am going to tape off and paint the sides within the next couple of days. (You can see my thermocouple wire hanging off to the side. I'll re run it after I'm done painting.

I used to burn them in my Baby Countryside. Lots of ash that led me to clean the burn pot daily. Decent heat. I wonder how the Accentra would handle them?

I'm getting there. I'm debating on whether or not I should replace the combustion blower. The inner bearing sounds dry and I know that I will have to cut the shaft to remove the blower.

3rd bag of pellets went into the P43 last night. Good thing I looked before I retired for the night - pellets were only in the throat, and it ran twice since then.

Nice warm afternoon yesterday with cloud cover and the house was still warm when I went to bed. So no fire.

    NOT WARM THIS MORNING THOUGH.....

62 F in the shack when I rolled out .

Decided to fire the Big Whit up and let it gitterdone.

I tested the big stove on its new controller back in June, but were only able to do a few runs as the weather was getting too warm for that sized stove..

I hit the start button and NOTHING.

    OMG...NOW WHAT ???????????????????? :jaw:

No coffee in me yet...still foggy.

Ahhhhhh yes...we had a power outage last week and I had not even thought about that....
Pressed the reset button and the beast came right to life...

After the fans came up something did not sound right.????????

    Hmmmmm

    AHHHHH YESSSSSSSS

I had forgot that with the new controller all the old fan wha wha noise was not there.

The exhaust fan always made noise....and now its quiet.

Did not even hear the exhaust fan at all.

Decided to take a peek through the grille in the back to see if it was running.

    Oh yeah... spinning happily

Lighting the fire with no exhaust fan is a nasty smokey mess:eek:

Hit the fire tray with the propane torch and shortly there was FIRE

Closed the door and withing 20 minutes the LO/LIMIT lamp had come on indicating the system was off the startup timer..

    Fire burning sweeeeeeet.

The summer sojourn had dampened my memory on the behavior of the stove now that the new controls are in and calling the shots.

I will be very happy to get a good mind set on how this sucker behaves and all of it's little nuances down to long term memory....

Well, now's the time to do it. The blower motors are relatively inexpensive. You don't want to mess with that midseason when you need the stove.

That's my thinking too. I'm going to try to remove the impeller first before I cut the shaft. Maybe someone used Nev'r Seez.

    One can hope!!! :D

I picked up a used P68 and got the set screw off the impeller with a little spray, heat and a small extension (pipe) on the allen wrench.

Here's a great deal on a Gleason replacement:
