Great history NH mountain man !!
It amazes me that the real history is generally started by men in a Tavern. Fort Ticonderoga in NY, was taking over when Ethan Allen a bunch of his inebriated Buddies decided to storm the fort and take it from the British. For this he was a great American hero. The rest of the story is he froze to death, drunk, on Lake Champlain trying to get his horse to bring him back across the ice to the islands. So definitely the black sheep of the family.
His brother, IRA Allen, a Dr. started a School of Medicine known as UVM, in 1791 one of the first Medical schools in the area.. And is basically unknown:loco:

I couldn't possibly agree with you more. Been trying to relocate to the north for several years now this state has a way of being a giant sucking black hole that won't let you out. I intend on breaking the shackles this coming spring come hell or high water. My wife unfortunately is having a harder time making the mental leap, mostly in finding a new job up there after 20 years in the same place here. My home is already there, somewhere around the White Mountains, just waiting for us, I just need to get there.

I finally pulled my 16 year old from the public schools this year to home-school him. One of the many, many reasons was the way they glanced over the revolution and the study of history has become more a system of indoctrination to modern agendas. The entire revolution in a couple months and they never read a word of the declaration or the constitution.

As part of his history curriculum, I've been using the Open Courseware system put out by many of the universities. Yale University has The American Revolution class, 25 videos of class lectures, syllabus, coursework etc all free online. The Professor, Joanne Freeman offers a unique perspective and in the introduction talked about how Adams said years later, the battles & fighting were small part to the revolution itself. That the real revolution started roughly 15 years prior to the first shots, as the declaration says, with a long train of abuses & usurpation's and lasted many years after the British were gone.

The American Revolution | Open Yale Courses

Having studied constitutional law intensely the past few years, I can tell you, the tyrants have woven their way back in at every level.

I hope that relationship is a decent one because if not apparently she shouldn't be walking around in public because she might offend a straw man somewhere.
