    Having a stainless flue installed today, to take over for some loosening flue tiles.

    Oil burner and propane hot water tie-ins, in the basement.

    I love spending $ on things not visible. Peace of mind has value, I guess.

    Stainless flues are a great investment. They make flue cleaning a lot easier!

    Yes. But, this isn't the flue for the wood stove. Shouldn't need much cleaning at all

    Wish I could have gotten a front picture of this stove. Miz Judy would be ready to come south and get it. It was in one of the rich folks houses on the Jekyll Island Club. Pretty interesting history there. IMG_20190923_114455042.jpg

    We finished our tour this morning with a visit to Faith Chapel, a small church that was built on the Jekyll Island Club grounds. Amazing stained glass windows. This one was designed, built and signed by Tiffany. He only signed 25 windows IMG_20190924_100001358.jpg

    Good morning everyone! Not too many rain chances ahead, they all seem to fizzle out before they get to us. At least it's gotten cooler.
    I got the last two oak logs cut up yesterday, and I'll split some of it this morning. I'm picking my grandson up from school this afternoon, so I can't get too ambitious. I'm also poised to hop in the car to pick up some skinny black birch close by that Woodwhore has kindly offered me. And I want to get out to Winchester on Saturday for the pickle festival. Lots going on for my relatively poky lifestyle. Only 8 days before my Ohio trip, too.

    This Tiffany, I think the guide told us was brother to the one that does crystal. He was a friend to the guy whose name is at the bottom.

    Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. Back to working on our side jobs, got to go cut 2 yards today, going to be a dust bowl. Dust mask and goggles for sure. Then got to work on getting the load of cooking wood ready. Go see mama again tonight. We stopped by on the way home yesterday. She has been moved to a different hospital to start rehab.
