I decided I needed a trailer to haul multiple sxs units (Polaris rangers). I found that most trailer with enough length were way over built for the payload that would be on it, so I decided to build my own. This started off as a 29” travel trailer. I bought it already torn down to the frame and axles. I added crossmembers and side rails to strengthen it. Finished Deck length is 24’9” and deck width is 70”.
I added lights, wiring and decking. The decking I predrilled through the boards and into the cross members, then used self tapping trailer flooring screws. I coated the decking with Thompson’s water seal
I added new tires/wheels and weighed it. Finished weight was 2168lbs. The axles are rated at 3500lb each. That allows me to comfortably haul 2 units. It a solid trailer and it pulls great, I’m happy with the way it turned out. Last thing to do was put it to use.
Nathan, I had a good time up there. I think I tried out a couple of your saws, I’m not a Stihl man but I did like that 462.
Flipping a sport quad on you is not good...the big Vtwin 4x4's are worse...but the SxS machines are in a league of their own! Free advice...wear your seatbelt!
Good question. Great reuse of an old travel trailer, that thing looks sweet!! About how much do you have into it??
