Load up the washer and start it, feed the animals, feed this critter, then switch wash to dryer, refill washer get both started, go outside and dig in the poop, come inside in about an hour clean up, take dried load upstairs for folding, put washer load in dryer fill washer with the third and final load and start both, go back outside and dig in the poop for another hour, you get the plan, take load from the dryer upstairs, put last load in the dryer, dig in poop some more, then call it quits for the day, get cleaned up and remove the last dryer load. Go out to lunch, then take a little nap.

Laundry got done and two and half yards of poop got spread, some of it even got worked into the ground, should get it all spread tomorrow if the rain holds off. No need to work one's self too much but the arm won't allow that to happen as it reminds me when it has had enough.

No rototiller here, everything is done by hand. You should have seen me the first year here, 32 yards of loam, and about the same of manure. Been adding or removing stuff by the yard ever since we moved in here. We were lucky the first two years in having all the manure one could want for nothing.

Nice work Bear. I could have used a nap this afternoon. Almost had one for a few minutes. But did not have enough time. Will sleep well tonight though. Had a good weather day today and got some wood split, grass mowed and caught the kids baseball game and girls dance recital. You guys have a good one and don't work too hard.

I was just getting to bed last night and then all hell broke loose. Had to get the kids in the basement for this one. After it died down I went outside and found a yard full of these:

    IMG_20140521_221630_813.jpg

The garden is shredded...lost at least 50% of everything. Got some limbs down in the yard. All the hostas in the landscaping are shredded. The neighbor's tree fell over on the power lines and caught on fire.

    Ah, the midwest in May.

For around here, it's not super big. I've definitely seen bigger, but it lasted a solid 5-8 minutes...usually you might get a short burst of hail for maybe 2 minutes. This stuff just didn't quit.

Yeah...I tried to get some pics of the ground but my phone would have none of it. You could see more hail than grass in the yard.

We dodged that bullet here. Had a pretty good thunderstorm roll thru, lots of lightning and long rolling thunder, the kind that shakes the whole house and the rain poured down like buckets. I hung out in the garage with doors open and swilled a couple cold frosties, enjoying the show,,,
Glad you and yours' are okay, hate to hear about the garden and flower beds...

Holy crap lukem you didn't need any of that. Glad everyone is safe and I hope you get the garden back in business. Around here such events are rare and the hail is usually small when they do occur.

You need to have 4 days off to drink beer? Man, I must have missed that memo.

When you start to get "older", like Ward, you need 3 days to recover. upload_2014-5-22_11-11-48.jpeg

Wife just informed me that the hail shattered the passenger side mirror on our van. Side-ways hail!! Neighbors lost 3 big trees (20"+) snapped off about half-way up o_O.

That was my question... any damage to vehicles? Airports get a lot of expensive damage from big hail pounding small planes tied down outside. We get hail here once in a while... not that big tho...

Glad you were proactive and did the basement run with the Fam, all the material stuff can be replaced. Looks like the tree damage could be beneficial to the cord count. Are you friendly with your neighbors??

Yep...I'm related to them. Problem is they are now serious widowmakers about half way down a monster ravine. Not worthy dying over, which is a real possibility.
