Have a husqvarna 460 the chain popped off yesterday, no biggie so trying to reassemble the adjuster wont move , can I just buy that adjuster or do I have to buy the cover. Thanks in advance. Jim
There are a few variations of that saw and I don't know if they are all the same or not PartsTree has the IPL's online and it looks like you can buy the parts separate.
I’ve had good luck with HLsupply don’t know if they have anything for a 460. They don’t have a handlebar for my 345 though.
Might need some additional help , purchased the gear drive parts, the bar wont adjust and the new gear seems to bind up , anything I should look for, is the cover bad ??
The adjuster is basically a specialty but that rides along a threaded rod. It's brilliant and simple at the same time. You are loosening the bar nuts right? My neighbor couldn't tighten his chain and busted an adjuster. Bought a replacement and still couldn't get the chain tight?? I went over tightened the chain up and he said how did you do that? I said I just tightened it?? What do you mean? How do you do it? And I then said you are loosening the bar nuts right...he said no!! I said no wonder it won't tighten up! I really don't think your doing that since you actually have cut firewood for years though.
I got it ! Got the bar on and was able to get the chain adjusted Still baffles me how a adjuster binds up
Like Clemsonfor said....I bet your bar nuts weren't loose enough. Maybe this clutch cover is shaped to stay tighter with slightly loose nuts. Give them 1.5-2.0 CCW turns before adjusting.
Is the cover bent or warped? It's plastic right. Is there trash like sawdust in the track? Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Gotta be the 2 gears to turn slot 90*. See what's binding. Another option: Drill hole in front, Get bolt that fits pin nut (I'd guess M5) and screw from the front. 99% of saws do it that way. I guess Husky had to act like Stihl and over-engineer something.
