    Only thing I can add WW is bring her favorite blanket or toy for new car/family.. And drive safe on way home..

    :salute: Bag packed with toys, her food and food container is going, and a dog bed she's been frequenting, all of it has our scent on it. Adoptor is kind enough to drive all the way up here, meeting me in town. It will likely not be smooth like bogieb hopes for, but she will come around to her new owner. Since I am doing the handover the adopter generously is driving All The Way Up Here, so not a long drive home and I know the roads well, thank you, that was an issue for me, so glad she agreed. Darling doggie is on her way to wonderful life in a matter of hours.

    I almost texted you today. I did not. Your posts about Coffee Cup said it all. I have a lot on my plate, time for this lil lady to be the apple of the adoptor's eye, she is different than our other dogs and deserves the chance to be more than just one of the pack like we are here.

    that is true but the area we are talking about is off the main track ,the massholes tend to stay in the rt.93 and 95 areas and of course there is the concern about infiltration from those across the northern border although that is not as much of a problem :D:rofl: :lol:

    wildwest I hope the rehoming went well.

    It's not easy to give up a pet, we had to do the same with the beagle that my dad had prior to his passing.

    A fine beagle, but WAY too energetic/excitable for us(me) to handle. I probably would have ended up harming it.
    :confused:

    A coworker of mine has a brother that loves beagles. When he came by, Ginger took to him immediately. Last I heard (some years now), she was loving it with his other beagles.

    I wanted to "do right" by my father. I still feel that I did right by both my father and the dog by ensuring she is in a good environment for her.

    It was hard to accept at first though.

    Thanks Chaz. Having a difficult time accepting I handed her off yesterday, I could not deny this larger than life lil dog personality was asking for more and I had. I pray I did "do right" by her. To my surprise the handoff went better than I thought (though I was a hot mess and feel terrible I tricked her into getting into the new owners back seat with me). The updates so far have also been than I expected.

    In a week or two hopefully the adopter will keep you updated on her transition, but I think Peaches will transition well.

    All signs regarding what you all told me about Peaches point to all you were right. I have not heard from them in a couple days but last update things were going beyond my expectations, not just okay, but more like the Willie Wonka's "golden ticket" owner I hoped for. Resisting asking her for an update, trying to hold out til this weekend while they get their routine figured out.
