a few logs today

    I had these and a few more eucalyptus logs on the ground at a friend's house I have been cutting at. Had to run down to help another friend that is cutting a field at the same place, so I decided to make a wood trip out of it. Will get this stuff home and get it CSS when I have more time.

    I’m wondering if you cut cookies of that and let it dry out of the sun, sanded them, clear varnish coats might bring out the color more...cool stuff.

    It would, but it seems to end crack quite a bit.

    By west coast standards that's some serious BTUs. Not to mention very little limbing, Wish I could lay my hands on some without spending $100/cord on fuel.

    Actually, there is a ton of slashbon those trees. I think the only firewood better that we have here is Live Oak, which is near the top of the burn chart for BTU's.

    I heard from wood turners that cutting out the pith helps keep this from happening but the slower the drying the better likely...
