Should be three new saws waiting for me when I get home and am working a deal on a 98 cc saw that should be done tomorrow.
I really want to send my 361 ou this year to have it ported. Seems like every time I might have some extra money... Life happens.
If you seen the 562xpg I seen at the GTG? You would want your 60 cc saws to run like that as well. And the 562 only had about 2 tanks.. Still breaking in I have eyewitness reports that I ran it at the GTG. It was dirty. I just like to save Randy some time. Otherwise he has to clean it. I bought a new air compressor, so I had to check it out Been needing one for over a month. Finally bit the bullet. I never ran it against MM's 261. But with the times, I don't have to. MM had some wicked killer chain. Now, had my 362 had that bar and chain? They probably ran about the same. My 362 was only about 1 second behind it, with 3/8". Compared to his 261C with .325 or PS3 (whatever it was, it was a more narrow kerf). A pic to show I ran it..
If I had to choose only one it would be my ported MS261. Why? I have 16", 18" and 20" bars for it and truthfully that covers 90% of my needs. It's light, loud, and a freaking BLAST to run!
I worked a farm with a 3020 (trike), 4020, a 2wd 4440, and a MFWD 4450. Both the big tractors had the injection pumps turned up and the 4450 had the 15 spd PowerShift trans. dammed hard to pick a favorite.
How does it compare to older 70cc saws? I'm too cheap to go spend $1000 +- to get a new 13lb 60 cc saw ported when my $75 13 pound o44 does fine by me... If you can show me a 362/562 that cuts 10-20% faster than a stock 10mm dual port 044 then I'd be a buyer
I would say that Birddogtg's 562xpg would smoke that 044. In anything under 20". Over 20" (28" bar territory) the 044's torque may shine. But speed in average wood? No doubt the 562 has it.
Found it: http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/index.php?threads/g2g-pics.4161/page-2#post-98869 That thing sounds wicked.
Actually these vids show that quite well. First vid, I am leaning on it pretty good, a little too hard in fact. Hear it bog? Now look at how much faster/better it runs once I ease up on it. Dex is right on, it's fast, but it doesn't have 044 torque. When it fired for the first time, everybody turned heads and said "What the ____ is that?!"
