6/21 Quad Cities Get Together RSVP

Ok folks we need a name for the upcoming get together that will be held near the Quad Cities on the Iowa-Illinois-Wisconsin tri-state area. We are still deciding what all this will entail and whether it will be the whole weekend (6/20-6/22) or not. Please fill out the survey and suggest a name to differentiate it from the other get together we just had in Ohio. I personally like the idea of calling it the Summer Classic.

 

Myself and Grizzly Adam will be there Friday night for those looking for a long event to justify traveling.

-We are going to be grilling pig, burgers, brats, etc.

- There will be trees to take down and saw races.

- There is an old Hearthstone I in a barn that needs to be re-gasketed if we are looking to make an onsite FHC tutorial video if there's any interest.

- In addition to camping and bon-fires and drinking, on Saturday night, we will be heading down to the Mississippi river and groups will be taken across the river by boat to a private beach for bon-fires and more libations. This also gives a chance to jump in the river and wash saw dust, bar oil, and sweat off if you are so inclined. (Me!)

-There will be limited access to an outdoor shower, but I will rent a Porta-Potty.

-Kids are welcome. My daughter should be there.

-We will be streaming the event.

-Boats are encouraged for a late night river cruise.

-Any RV, tent camping, or fifth wheel is welcome.

-Dirt bikes and quads encouraged.

-Bring your camp chairs if possible.

I understand. I'll make the Swags G2G next year if there is another one. But, I'll be flying in with tickets booked well in advance.

I have 50 Amp service in the garage and I have a 5500 watt Honda for power. The log splitter should still be there, I have a tractor for dragging and a pickup with a trailer. There is room for about 50 tents.

 

Hope it's more than just firecracker and I.

 

I left maybe off on purpose. Everyone gravitates to maybe.

 

Snag a couple of members and bring them with if you can.

 

I know there are other people in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin which aren't too far. We'll see what happens.

 

That looks beautiful. Can wait to be ferried across.

 

Like you said...we need to get more people first. I want at least 5 members to come...not that I still wouldn't host a gathering, but who's going to help me drink the beer?
