When I had my driveway work done last year I had to take a bunch of trees down. I named it the Pile of Woe. It was a pile with root balls still attached and mix match of everything. Finally getting to the main Woe part. The front part was easy access. This stuff is half buried with dirt, brush, smaller trees and not really easy to get to. The Tree of Woe is under there. This was a standing dead. Had no idea what it was. Thought maybe a cherry but took saw to it and now think its red oak. Some progress on the Woe. Its under the mess.
I worked up a pile similar to that 2 summers ago. Though not nearly as covered up as your pile of "woe" it still made some slow going. It will worth it in end, take slow and keep a stiff broom handy.
Done with true hoarder spirit Biddleman I wouldve been doing the same! Hope you had a beater chain as that mustve done a number on it!
Whoa, that's a lot of Woe. That doesn't look right for cherry or oak though. What it is I don't know.
Ill try to save/use chains that are almost filed all the way down where there is little meat left on the teeth. Not a big fan of cutting dirty/sandy wood, but you hafta take what you can! Semi chisel chain is better for that but i prefer full chisel.
Right pic reminds me of beech when split green IMO/IME. Usually when its sat for a while there will be some spalting present in the wood. Was there any bark present on either Biddleman ?
this pic bark looks like cherry IMO! Seems like vines love cherry. Dont score a lot of it and rare it doesnt have vines.
Yeah. Im pretty sure thats cherry. Maybe woe tree is too. Just not holding the color. That pile Im close to 3 cords of cherry.
