18 percent moisture content. I have a moisture meter to give a more accurate idea on how dry the wood is.

Got a ways to go yet. I’m actually looking forward to getting this done. There’s been a few nice log load scrounges on FB and it’s killing me not o go after them :)
But I’m gonna guess I’ll be in the woods collecting my own scrounges before I need to travel.

There will be ASAP. :ithappened: Sorry Nordic Splitter i agree wholeheartedly. I did take some with my digital camera and cant post them til the screen on my netbook is fixed. Was gonna be ready last Friday. but nope. Called this AM and later this week. Left for the Cape today and using hotel PC. Talk about FHC dedication!:salute:
It bugs me that i cant, trust me. I always post pics with my threads.
Had to post the thread while it was fresh in my mind cuz at my age it'll be gone soon!:BrianK:

why not grab them when get it while the gettins good? From the looks of things you have more than enough room? Id love to go to that wood deck on route 2 and cut a truckload of hickory!
Have you processed the locust from February? If so, your thoughts on it?

I like to make sure I can swallow whatever I bite off ;)
Locust is still in the driveway along with another 3 trailer loads of oak.
I must have at least 20 good sized oaks on the property that are either down or needing to come down.
    Including this bad boy :)

Impressive to see a branch turn a 16” hickory into toothpicks :)

I hear ya. I've processed more wood this summer than all prior summers combined. Usually I'll just accumulate it then cut in the fall, but having so much and needing the room. As it is now there's maybe at least a half cord of smaller logs/rounds to process. Making room is my biggest problem. Stacking is my least favorite task which doesn't help!

Well, here are the pics. Nordic Splitter & The Wood Wolverine (from August 25) I will add the same pics to my "mini honey hole" thread. IMG_0847.JPG
mostly red maple and beech splits loaded. I moved half cord at a time to keep track of now much wood. IMG_0846.JPG IMG_0848.JPG
One of the last logs i cut. Big red oak. Moved most of the splits before i bucked the remaining logs. IMG_0851.JPG last load. Oak chunks and nuggets that came home. IMG_0849.JPG I hastily dumped the last load of oak at my friends. The stacked wood on the middle was from the mini honey hole. Probably bringing the oak back home to stack and process. IMG_0850.JPG
When i finished. A desert of noodles and wood crumbs, bark etc. The left log was oak. Right log is a utility pole cut off.
Tried several times to roll it with the peavey but couldnt. Was too tired to try and buck on ground...didnt feel like cutting dirt. IMG_0434.JPG IMG_0432.JPG Last two pics when i started in early June. Score yielded 4+ cords. 75% red oak. I also got the another cord+ from the property. See my threads:
    i may not take this

i was just going across the street to stack. Made it a lot easier. The stacking area was really tight quarters. That was fully loaded. Couldve loaded more just wanted to have a running tally of how much wood. You know how us hoarders can be!
