We built a fire last night. We have an owb that is hooked to 2 houses one ours & one which my mother in law lives in & she asked me to build a fire because she couldn’t get warm yesterday (87 years old) so I built one. It’s still burning today although I didn’t add any more wood today. It did warm our basement up nicely & take out that damp feeling .

I’m better prepared than most other years.

This season will be the first in this new to me house with a full season burning the nc30 here. It did very well Dec. on, last season. just ordered on of those soot eater type units (33 ft ) ( Ya I'm behind on everything.) So I can do a quick clean from the bottom up. 7/12 roof -not fun playing around up there.

Came oh so close this morning. Even closed the windows in the house.
Fire pits been burning non stop for three days tho. Big ash crotch that I just didn’t feel like noodling. Tossing uglies on it. Should be gone now.

It's pleasantly cool (here in the UK) of an evening, but not cool enough to start slinging wood around.
I predict that my stove be glowing in a couple of weeks time.

No rush on this side of the puddle.

It is that time of year when it is cool in the house and not about to warm up much when my wife decides to bake some cookies. Warms up the house nicely. YUM

Nope. Not here for a while yet. Outdoor fires, yes, but that's it for now.

We've seen 39 a couple times overnight, but the house hasn't gotten lower than 66 and recovers well enough during the day. If Mrs Papi wasn't 6 weeks away from delivering our third mini-me, we'd probably have had one fire so far. But she's running very warm now so the stove can stay idle until the little fella arrives as far as we're concerned. She's "nesting" and I'm happy anywhere between 65-80, so keep g the house a little cooler is working for now.

Not even close. We have gone 2 consecutive days with the ac off and the windows open. Took the kids to the pool today, upper 80’s, if we are lucky we will get to have a fire in November.

Between that big outdoor wood stove & having it connected to 2 houses & having a mother in law who’s suffering from a bit of forgetfulness
i.e. turning up the heat when she’s cold then opening all the windows in the house when she gets warm & forgetting to turn the thermostat back down that she set @ 80degrees , We do indeed use a lot of wood in the winter.
I sometimes wonder if I’m contributing to global warming!!!!!:picard::headbang::doh:

Nope, it's been in the high 90's here and 60's for lows. We're supposed to be getting a cool off... low 70's and low 40's... still not burning weather though.

We have been in the 40s at night, but warm days. I think we may be a couple of weeks out yet.

Farmchuck that is a beautiful stack of logs you are about ready to make into firewood!

On that one picture, you might strongly consider covering that part which sticks out into the open. All the water from a rain will pour down on that and you might not like the outcome!
