    So they cleared some trees out by where i live and noticed they stacked it all rite accross from my house prolly 100 yards if that.
    So asked if i could have it they said take it all so im thinking a couple holz housens to build for next season.

    I see a sycamore (brown and white thin bark), mulberry (yellow & reddish center meat), and hackberry (worty bark)... Nice volume wood....

    Free wood is the best wood this season will be the 1styear that we burn wood that our family wife and kids went and cut up brought home and split and stacked it

    I see sycamore and looks like black walnut too. I hope you have a splitter for the sycamore or you will be doing some serious noodling. Nice score anyway without the sycamore.

    I'd take it! Even the sycamore. Don't remember if you have a splitter or not but if not, you may have to rent one to get that sycamore split. It is still decent burning wood but not for winter nights; best in daytime or when long fires are not needed. It's been a long time but it seems walnut and sycamore are similar for burn time.

    I’m keeping my eye out for some Sycamore for a new chopping block.. I cracked mine last week trying to get the axe unstuck from a red oak chunk with some major scar tissue in it. I would think Sycamore would last quite a while.
    I’m with the others, cut it and stack it even if you can’t split it yet. Maybe noodle into halves and the remainder might split easier, or noodle into quarters. Big splits might take longer to season, but they’ll burn longer too.
    Looks like some other better stuff mixed in too.

    I agree. The sycamore is TOUGH to split. I tried hand splitting a piece once...never again.
