I saw this guy's youtube channel and watched a few of his videos. He does quite a bit of firewood for just having the one small splitter. Check it out and subscribe to his channel if you can, he is a hard worker.

4 way wedge would reduce splitting time at the loss of a few pieces of wood occasionally

I looked at a few more of his videos. He seems like a good guy but if you watch any where he is trying to fell trees, they are scary.

Well, he is half way there.....he is selling wholesale to stores and camp grounds........ renting the outdoor real estate at the stores and just giving a cut of sales to the campgrounds would make him a lot more.....my pure profit is $600 a true cord....I can get that higher if I get my wood costs down and invest more in the processing......camp grounds are the way to go!

The camp grounds around me keep their employees busy in the off season and process their own firewood. I was not able to tap into that market around here.

Certainly sounds like Uber money when he starts breaking it down. Didnt even factor deprecation on the truck and maintenance costs into that $125 profit.

I don't think that truck will depreciate much more.

Man is that a cut-throat market around here though.

A local guy has the campground market zipped up pretty tight, but is going blind, and the amount of back-stabbing, blood-letting and down-right beheading that is going on to try and secure the market is actually pretty disgusting, but that actually describes almost 100% of the Maine Logging Industry and not just kindling for campgrounds.

I recently said some things about Scot Linkletter and his logging family, if anyone knew the way Maine's logging industry works, they would realize why I said what I did. It is VERY rare to have integrity in the logging industry in Maine.

Watched the videos of his 16 year old female "employee". If she is in fact an employee and he's not trolling people with his daughter or relative, he is flirting with disaster since he doesn't provide PPE, maintained equipment or proper training.

I notice he wears chaps and gear when he runs the saw but says he won't provide her with chaps cause "she is only running it for a couple minutes". I'm leaning towards him trolling people on his channel.

I don't think she really needs to be running the chainsaw, that is really an accident waiting to happen.

I agree. The most recent video shows her contacting the branch with the saw tip as he feeds it across the trailer at least twice. I'm 100% for kids working, my 16 yr old runs my saws, but he wears all the gear and understands the potential ways to have a saw kick back at him. He always locks the bar when he has it at a resting position. He and I also understand that the saw can bite you in a second, especially when you're fatigued.

Having a tree fall the wrong way still beats sitting home on the couch wolfing down high fructose corn syrup being blasted by CNN propaganda.

Oh geez, well I guess he is getting the views. Do you think he is doing this stuff in this manner just to get views? Takes a lot of nads to make yourself look like a boob just to get views, I can't imagine it's good for the firewood business looking incompetent.

Probably by selling wood by the arbitrary "truck load". $400/cord ain't too hard that way.

Here in north central NH, the local grocers/convenience stores switched to/carry 'packaged' campfire wood/kindling. Campgrounds either do their own off season and/or buy from the small number of sellers who have cornered the market.
