    unseasoned Mulberry burns slower than a iron bar and smokes like someone addicted to weed

    Pretty much the case with all hardwoods other than maybe Ash.

    Every time I light a fire, I learn a lot when I pay attention to it. Very interesting I find. I had a branch of mulberry about 2” in diameter cut around 2 months ago, and it just hissed for about 30/45 minutes. After that i could still see it for around 1 hour 30 minutes at least. Just shows how much moisture is in an unseasoned piece of wood.
