1965 International Scout model 80 Was my Grandparents first new vehicle First manual trans I drove Did rockers and floors and getting ready for paint
What does that scout have in it? Or more importantly, what is going in it? I love those old rigs like that.
Kudos to you for the restoration! I had a buddy in H.S. with a modified '80, he drove that for many years before he got stupid and "over-modified" it. Think Chvy 350 and 44's. I had a Scout II for a while, and I've modded a few old CJ's with the running gear in the past. Let me guess- I-4, T-14 trans, D-18 T/C. D-30 frt./D-44 rr, both off-set. Is your D-30 front closed or open knuckle? Closed is weaker so don't go nuts with tire diam. Really look forward to the sequence for the rest. Love the Love for the good old 4X's.
Beetle-Kill not really a restore, just Taking care of some bad rust and gona drive the crap out of it. I’ve put almost 2000 miles on it since I bought it from Grandpa in 2003. T-90 3speed D-18 T/C D-27 front and rear... front is closed knuckles
My brother and wife taught high school on the island of Molokai. We went and stayed with them for 17 days. He had a friend who had an old Scout like that one. He took us axis deer and goat hunting one day. We went right up the side of a mountain with that rig. He also took us spear fishing on a remote beach that required some serious off road riding to get to. Another guy who was one of my wood hoarding mentors had one as well. He drove me around on grown over logging roads in the Sarona WI area with it. From my experiences, they are very tough and capable off road vehicles. What a great project Scout80.
