Decided to make the first meal for 2015 chili on the T-5 Woodstove. Will simmer all day!

I use granite samples as trivet to reduce heat as shown. I have 3 granite samples so I can keep the pan simmering.

Thanks I got the samples for free at a place in town that polishes granite for countertops, hearths etc.. Pretty much anything non flammable will work such as soapstone, cast iron, slate, bluestone etc.. Granite is a good heat conductor so it work exceptionally well..

Here it is 7 hours later and the chili has been simmering and stirred to prevent any burning.. Kidney beans added this time I removed most of the liquid and no tomato paste.. Hopefully turns out good! I did not add any salt to the chili and I don't think it's needed.. Time will tell!

Have to say it came out delicious! Added beans after draining water from cans then simmered with cover off for 45 minutes with occasional stirring.. Served with shredded cheddar\Monterrey jack cheese, with a little sour cream then added a little fresh cracked sea salt.. Yummy!
