    I sharpen it as it is, that hook is tough to get sharp. I need to contact them to see if they'll send me one of those special handle nut/bolt thingy. I lost half of one and I think they are guaranteed for life. The old canvas sheath is a pretty ragged too and if they are rea$onable, I'll have them send one.

    Used it today wacken crap out of the way so I could pull the Widowmaker down, then I went dead tree hunting on the neighbor's property, took it with me to get through some of the thicker stuff.
    Works great nice tool to have around

    Old thread, but I have a Woodsman's Pal and I love it. I like taking it camping. I find it useful.
    I don't care for the sheath though- I get that it is functional, but I'd prefer something more form fitting to the blade, but that might just be me.
    Mine must have an old handle, it's got a hand guard bar that protects the knuckles.

    Restored 3 of these my FIL gave me a couple of years ago. One has a cherry handle and the other one has Australian Cypress.
