I had a small Alder die and break off so I took the little 360 down to make a little firewood. There is always something to do in the woodlot.

I really do believe if a person was judicious about cutting and replanting, 2 acres would be plenty for a lifetime supply of firewood here in the mild NW territory.

We burned more than ever last Winter after I retired and it wasn’t much more than 2 cord.

The 360 buzzed right through. For me the toughest piece is cutting the stump off. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

The 360 is a good saw for zipping thru the smaller stuff.

It’s been a little wetter and cooler than normal which makes it okay for working outside. Been a bit humid but once it warms up it’s not bad like down in the south.

I've read that cutting 1/2 a cord per acre per year is sustainable. I'm sure there many variables.

That may be more reasonable than my thinking. By cutting a lot of the branches that fall, might be able increase that a little, but probably not much.

From what I have read in the past, you can expect between 1/3 and 1 cord per acre depending on the types of trees, soil, state of management, etc.

I've read anywhere from 1/2 to 2 cord per acre sustainable depending on soil/tree type and management.
I imagine "management" plays a key role in variances of estimated sustainabilities beyond forestry type.

I can handle that. I can do fat and lazy with the best of them.
Good excuse to grab a fishing pole and head to the beach.
