I just bought a Honda GX 270 to replace the crappy Briggs engine on my splitter. My problem is where the bracket that connects the engine to the hydraulic pump. The old bracket holes on the engine side were 2 1/2 inches apart like in the picture.

The new Honda spacing is 3 1/2 inches. The crank on the Honda is also 1" but I got that covered already by buying a new jaw connector with a 1" hole.

    My question is:
What is the correct term for that steel bracket that connects the engine to the pump? I've looked at the flexible jaw connectors and the Lovejoy connectors but none of them show that bracket and I don't know what the damm thing is called.
    Any ideas?

Hydraulic pump mounting bracket is yielding some results. My crankshaft is also longer so I'll need a longer bracket as well.
First thing I'll have to do is bring the old bracket inside and take some measurements.
Of course I was thinking the old one would just bolt right up
    Yeah, right.

    Ok.
So, when you’re searching something in a browser, you can typically highlight and copy that address and then come here and paste- no special buttons needed.
It’s easy with an iPhone, just touch the cursor on the screen and “paste” comes up.
Don’t know if Android has the same option.

How big is your pump? There are two different pump mounts that I know of. Up to 16 gpm is a four bolt mount. 22 gpm and up is a two bolt mount.

    It's 17.5 gpm and if I recall it's a four bolt mount.
I'll have to wait until the weekend when I can remove the mount and bring it inside. I'll need one another inch longer because that's the extra length of the Honda crank.

or make spacer(s) for the exra length- red neck way cut off shaft. Current bracket / mount , whatever -is there enough material to slot the bolt holes? Course having a machine shop at my disposal means none of this is a problem. between the various mills, grinders, welders dang near anything is possible. trick is to keep it square ( shaft center-line alignment).

Not enough material. The existing holes are right near the outer corners of the mount. The last thing I would want to do is cut the crankshaft. Maybe if I was lost in the jungle and doing that was my only way out...
