Eating lunch at my usual haunt yesterday, & in walk 5 tree cutters. I introduce myself by admitting that I'm shamelessly hawking for free wood. Foreman says they've already got a guy that will take it all. No problem, I say. He takes my phone # in case the other guy doesn't want all of it. Today the phone rings, it's the foreman, says the other guy's phone has been disconnected do I want the wood. For sure, he's coming by tomorrow to check my log yard for his truck. I finally think to ask how much they're cutting. I'm assuming this a residential tree cutting job. Nope, moving a power line easement further from the road 90+ trees as of now, maybe more. I'm gonna have to get a little creative on stacking log piles if this pans out. May end up with a lot less lawn & way more log yard, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Stay tuned.
I think that's what I herd about that on the news yesterday , I don't remember exactly where the location was
Huh, I don't watch much news, but these trees are coming off Gun Lake Road in Barry County. Supposed to be Oak, Maple, White Pine, & some other assorted stuff. This could turn into years of firewood if it flies. Bring your trailer over if you want a couple loads HDRock .
90 trees is a lota dang wood I hope it's not to muddy out back when the rain stops so I can do some processing
12-30" !!??!! ...sweeet! Thats a shame they're chipping all the easy stuff...but awesome score!! And... that earned you... a big...You Suck! Lol Just joking, brother !
There's a fine line between managing firewood, always wanting more of it, and then all of a sudden getting overwhelmed with it. Good luck with this, it sounds like you could be set with firewood for a long long time!!
