This is not cool. Our PP60 decided to not work right this year.

When you turn the dial on the side to whatever setting desired it fires up just fine but as soon as it gets adjusted up or down it stops feeding the pellets and dies out. :(

Old faithful needs a new brain.:picard:

I left 3 messages now with PelPro and no response yet.

Does anybody know the part # for the feed control circuit board?

It’s got a couple burned spots on it and is defiantly bad.

    Sorry to read that Pete.

Link to Pelpro stove service manuals:

    PelPro Stoves | Manuals

    Appears there are (2) SKUs of PP60 - PP60 and PP60-RF,

    PP60 control board part #: SRV7079-050
    PP60-RF control board part #: SRV7079-050,

looks like the same part # for both SKU's,

a "Google" search on that part # brings up various vendors / purchase options.

** Edit: Best that you check the above link / service manual PDFs, and confirm the above is the -exact- part you need. **

    Hope this helps,
    Regards, Rob

    Same. :(

Dunno if Pete's aware, but TSC is having the 20% off sale on all stoves through tomorrow, Tues. 12/12/17 - if the #'s worked out, a new stove would give lots 'o spare parts as needed.. But that's a several hundred differential for new vs. repair.. Just a thought.

Best price I could find was same $271 kind of queer as the one for my cellar dwellar stove pp130 was only $ 246 . Thought I may need to do the same as mine was acting spastic but after ripping it apart this weekend replacing all gaskets (convection, combustion, glass door and a serious OCD cleaning including the convection and combustion and the venting system it seems to be back in the saddle and performing just as i need her to. Was looking for replacement stoves as the brain aint cheap but glad i went mental on the clean up and tune up .

Well maybe I’ll haul it to the garage and tear it all apart again what a pita. I did that when we bought it cleaned it all up painted it in and out.

The gaskets are harder than heck to get for the exhaust fan housing too. I ordered it and they mailed the wrong gasket twice so I made my own.

If it makes you feel any better... we dropped 200+ on the Francesca back in May '17 for a new burn pot & baffle plate - new burn pot is starting to stress crack in the -exact- same spot on the bottom as the previous one.. Looks like (2) seasons max. for each burn pot here. :headbang: ... But in the grand scheme of things, that's still waaay cheaper vs. the Dino Burner.

Hey, it could always be worse - you could own the '01 Olds Intrigue we've got here. :picard:
    * Thanks again for your post / that great info. in the other thread.

    Is the BP sheet metal?

OEM charging good $$ for piece of crud crap that don't last burns my azz........ Like my $150 agitator that only lasts 2 seasons before it turns to dust! :mad:Some investment cast crud that is cheap for them to make But didn't come close to the origanl weldment that lasted 5 seasons. I'll build my own for I buy that crap again!! Total BS IMHO..................

Nah, it's plate steel & appears decent thickness & quality - it's just a 'non-optimal' burn pot design..

Bottom plate is tack-welded to the sides (all pieces are tack-welded to each other), when the bottom plate gets hot -> expands, it doesn't have any flex room: so the bottom bows -> and stress cracks form, between the air holes, on the bottom plate.

Burn pot warping was a common complaint from the Ecoteck owners on the 'other' forum, so it's not a great surprise or anything.. My understanding is because of this issue was the reason Ravelli went to a cast burn pot & redesign on the newer Francesca models. All new models, if I read correctly. The new cast burn pot design is -much- different, vs. the older stove we got here.

    Consumable burn pots suck. :(

I wish I could.. Have thought about taking the old spare burn pot down to the local machinist, and seeing what it would cost to get a 1/4" piece of plate drilled, and retro-fitted. I'm afraid to.. :jaw:

The pelpro "dial a fire" control system has issues,Some have had success with just replacing the dial.If was mine,i would remove the dial, spray the dial with contact cleaner, while rotating it,make sure the connectors, both ends of the harness that goes to dial and the brain, plug in and unplug several times(to remove any unseen corrosion,as it is low voltage),put back together and try.

It has two burnt points on it so I’m going to look it over better this weekend. It’s been years since I’ve made a circuit board but I still remember a few tricks.

I’m gonna see how much worse I can make it before anything else.

If it’s toast the stove is junk I’ll buy a new stove before dumping that much on a dial.

I'm an expert at making things worse when trying to fix them. For me, it's a time-honored tradition.

Can you switch to the new style? Might worth a lil extra $$ ifn they last longer.

That's what I would do, But I have available tools to make chit myself and I'm a metal worker by trade. I'd ask and see for giggles. Even if its a wee bit more it'll likely last longer and If you make it out of 304-308 or even 316 SS, You'll much get longer life out of it. Heck for trials, You could even have them nip out the bottom section and replace it with a removable SS bottom or tack it in with nickel rod..... Its worked for me in the past with a Breckwell turd bucket..........

Wished I had my own shop. I do nothing but fix OEM f-ups and turd baskets......... I'd be freekin :makeitrain"

Check the proof of fire circuit. I don't have any manuals on this or my new downstairs system but you are describing what goes on if the proof of fire system doesn't sense a fire within x minutes of the stove start button being pressed. Sounds like a thermo-disc not snapping when it should could be ash.
