I'm going away this Saturday moose hunting and could be gone up to 9 days so I fired mine up this morning to make sure it was working OK. The thing ran like crap. Very lethargic flame. The pellets were building up in the burnpot faster than they would burn. So I turned it off and have been wracking my brain since trying to figure out what I did to screw it up. I've been suspicious that my combustion blower has been slowing down. Was it that? Damp pellets from Walmart? Both? About 4 this afternoon after I got home from work it dawned on me. I had stuffed paper towels into the air intake to keep moisture and bugs out of the stove and never took them out.:headbang::emb: I'm hoping that was the issue. I know it couldn't have helped.

Now that I've been to confession, shouldn't I feel better?

    Hello

It is 54 degs and dropping, so it maybe a good idea just to test the stove and try one of those brand new fresh bags of premium 100% softwood pellets just sitting there waiting for me?

Same here, this is my favorite time of the year. Yesterday and today were both top 5 days. We have some low 50s and high 40s nights coming in the next few weeks, but as long as we shut the windows at night, the indoor temps will remain in the 65 - 70 range. I worked on cleaning the stoves a bit yesterday. Fireboxes and fines boxes were done at the end of last season. ESPs are now done, and inside 3" venting on the P43 is done. I got up on the roof to do the outside flues and the yellow jackets got me down real quick. Recently discovered the hard way I have a crazy allergy to those buggers, so I will wait until it gets a little colder to tackle the flue cleanings from the roof.

Not yet for me. Was mid 40's last night. I want to hold out as long as possible.

The wife and my 2 kids helped me get 75 bags downstairs this evening. We have one more ton outside in the garage and then I need to buy one more ton of something better to be good for the whole season. Plus the random half ton of test bags (5 bags here and there to test) will round out the 4 ton.

Still not running my stove as yet. This has to be a record for me. I haven't had it on since the first of May. House is holding its temp very well. High 30s F predicted for tonight. More warm weather predicted for the rest of the week and into next week. Wife keeps giving the stink eye, but I'm not lighting the stove until it gets below 70 inside.

The 5000 is the same stove I have (Enerzone Eurostar) . Very efficient workhorses that have a lot of technology built into them.

In that case? Fire that baby up!! lol :)
    That's like a new toy!

I finished piping in the P43 and sealed the outside between the pipe and thimble. Will test it out tonight. Wanted to wait since I didn't want to have to open doors/windows if I messed up the install and had to vent smoke.

The house was at 67 when I got home yesterday afternoon. At 9 pm I decided to start up the basement dwelling P61a (okay, I had to finish putting it back together after doing a tear down a couple of weeks ago - yes I have AADD so when shiny things appear I get distracted - LOL). Anyway, I set the beast ~72 and the main floor stayed at 67 thru the night.

I was running mine June 28th - it was 48 degrees outside and I had ridden a lot of the day in rain and high wind on my way back from seeing a friend in NY.
