We bought a lot of food at Gordon's lately and picked up a 5lb cookie box. The recipes are for a 5lb box only. How exactly do I reduce the recipe? I suck at reducing recipes and always mess it up.
Pete, I suggest mix up the whole box as directed, make the amount of cookies you want, then freeze the rest of the batter, it'll be fine! The Mrs. does stuff like that all the time.
It's actually really dangerous if you don't make the whole recipe. And uncooked cookie dough in the freezer is a hazard to you and your family. Just cook the whole recipe and I'll PM you my address to dispose of any cookies that you're not able to eat in 24 hours before they go bad.. Oh yeah.. and throw some firewood in that box too!!!
5 lbs. of cookies doesn't seem outrageous to me. I made a double batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies a few days ago. Lots of cookies. Dang near overflowed 2 dinner plates when they came off the sheet. They don't last long around here,......which is why i made 2x.
Make whole box = send finished product to FWC members! No but for real, I can break it down, which of the 4 choices are you making? I see that a box maked 7 dozen cookies
So it explains to make a full batch as directed. It looks like you just add water. I believe you purchased a commercial box of mix. Is there directions for making a full batch? What is pictured is in addition to a full batch which may be on the other side of the box.
Yes that's what it is a commercial box. Gordon's Foods sells to restaurants and businesses kinda like Sams club without the membership fee. Nop there is no other directions it's a full batch or half batch and the side panel is the extras.
it says "prepare full batch as directed", but I don't see any directions to make a full batch. If you can find that, I can break it down into smaller batches
I could've eaten 4 dozen cookies by now, c'mon Pete! lol, take your time..... I need to lose this thanksgiving weight anyway, and make room for Christmas food
