We were lucky and were apparently on the outer edge of it. School was cancelled for the kids though. They are happy. Wind has been blowing around so hard to tell how much we got. But somewhere around 5-7 inches over the last 36 hours I guess. Still snowing lightly.
I'd say we got about 18-20 inches. Other side of town didn't get the little bit of rain that we started with, and they have 24"
We are on the back side of it. It just started snowing last night . Got about 10-12" WC is saying snow all the way through Friday. It's white out conditions right now. Glad I only have to drive till noonish .
My wife has some pictures on her phone, but I managed to get her off to work still. But I really wish it did not happen as we got hammered; 18 inches again on top of the 18 inches we got last week. Looks like another big storm a week from now. The record is 126 inches, and we are at 101 for the year, so we got a ways to go, but when the weather does break, there is going to be some flooding! Driving down the road is like driving through a white tunnel!
Any bets when you are going to be able to plant peas this year? You know, when spring finally arrives, I bet it will turn all at once. Once the snow melts, three weeks later we will have the lawn mower going. Seen it before.
I wish I had gotten them in Sunday. I've had pea seeds rot in the ground from too much rain and snow though.
Oh boy! I just realized that Good Friday is only a couple weeks away. We have the pea seed. Maybe I'll have to put the tiller on the tractor soon and get the garden tilled so we can plant peas. But it surely does not feel like spring out there yet.
Man gotta love them Nor'easters. Haven't seen snow on the ground in a while in southern WI. I wouldn't mind if it was around still for some snowmobiling. But I'm kind of getting in spring excitement mode now! Bring on the sun and warmth!
Could possibly be another one coming for the Northeast next week! I'm going to have to spend some time this weekend with the tractor pushing back snow banks to make room...
Super storm Skylar? I have not heard of that. But it seems everyone's posting pics of the nor'easter the other day, so.... here's some, also posted elsewhere here.
