Just got finished loading up the morning stove load. I realized as I loaded that the entire load was Hickory and Cherry. That's when I asked myself "where's the beef?" I was recalling some burgers we had a deer camp a couple weeks back. We brought a charcoal grill and I snuck a box of Hickory limb rounds and some Cherry chunks onto the truck too. Let the charcoal burn down and added the Hickory. Let that burn down a bit and blue cheese burgers with sauteed onions were on their way. Best dang burngers I have ever eaten. Chef was dead on with the medium to med-well cooking. Wierd thing was the guys bought ground beef from Walmart. I had refused to eat Walmart meat up to that point. It was really good though.
Nope. Between the 14 hour overnight drive up there, the cold beer and scotch sampling, I am just happy I remember how good it tasted!
