Whats your current "pellet plans" for this year?

Discussion in 'The Pellet Bag' started by Lousyweather, Apr 6, 2020.

?

Knowing what we know TODAY, what are you going to do for pellets this year?

  1. Ima ride this out and see what happens later in the summer!

  2. Im worried about supply. I am going to stock up early, even if the price isnt what I want it to be!

  3. Looks like I am not going to bother, given the price, and will burn oil/gas this coming winter!

  4. The ole paycheck looks bad, I am not buying due to lack of funds.

I am trying to get a consensus of what people think about their needs going forward this year, given SO many unknowns.

I have enough to get through most of next year. I may get another ton or two but I've got 6 months to figure that out. In the meantime, my rather large wood pile is looking grand.

None of the choices really pertain to me so I didn't vote BUT I do have about 9-10 ton on hand. Unless I find a "gotta have it cuz it's/i'm cheap :D", I'm going to roll with what I have on hand for next season.

Got enough for at least half of next season so I will start looking for more around September as I always do.

I chose the stock up early option on your poll. In reality I'm doing what I always do, buy 3 ton at early buy pricing and then towards the season take it from there.

Went small quantities in the garage this year and tried to keep purchases at or under $5 a bag from stores or private sales. Have a half dozen bags left with no real need to buy anything in the near term.

I have the better of a ton still. Never know when the burning season will end. I try to start off with a few ton, and reserve a couple more for later on. Never wait for last minute. I remember '08 when pellets were in short supply and some were crap.

I have 6-8 bags left. I'm trying to figure out how to make that last for any potential cooler evenings.

With where I work and although not the best pellets, (though my Croix is fine with them)I can get them at cost by the bag, so I just will throw some in the truck as needed.

make sure you bring on the pickup with the tonneau cover, and come up with a story about your back surgery or torn rotator cuff

he delivers, and has an electric thingy to move the pallets from trailer to garage. Wife and I will unpack and restack.
When I do pickup, art or another drives the pallet to truck with the lift and my wife and I pack the truck.
