My dad stopped over to help clean up the downed hemlock. My son joined him getting the brush piled up. Our neighbor stopped by again with his tractor and got the limbs picked up with my sons help. I cut up the main trunk and piled 4 cartloads of rounds. When I got home and cut the tree up. Cleaned up the area with the dethatcher. The spruce and hemlock rounds should be close to a cord. Still have a 10 feet of trunk standing to cut. I worked until dark and it was still a bit windy and cold.
You guys are alright. I feel like I could air out my dirty laundry here, discuss my marital problems, skeletons in my closet, my master plan for getting the heck out of Dodge eventually... I mean, I'm not going to discuss those things here, but I feel like I COULD. That's all for now, thanks and carry on
Hey talked to my son the other day. Said the snow storm they got a wk or 2 ago, really helped knock the fires down. Stated they were 92% contained. Just working on hot spots.
Been an interesting (if that is the right word for it) 24 hrs. Got home must a little before 7 last night. Chaz got up went to work and I was playing games on the computer. Went to stand up and up and felt real dizzy so sat back down. Took my bp and it was 77/43. Most people pass out with it that low. Couldn't get it back up so called Chaz and he came and picked me and off to the ER we went. Spent all afternoon there and they ran fluids and test. Wanted to keep me overnight for observation so they had to call the VA, luckily they didn't have any beds so I was going to stay at this hospital. Told Chaz to go on home to take care of Holly. A couple minutes after he left, the PA that we were talking to came back out and told me she talked with a cardiologist and he lowered the dose on one of the heart meds and my body needed time to adjust to all the new meds (5). So now I am back home again. Been having a hard time getting a diagnosis. They did tell me today that I did have a minor heart attack.
Hang in there, Jill! Hope you can get those BP meds calibrated. Pay attention to your body and keep your phone handy. God bless Chaz!
Got the mirror frames figured out just need to apply some poly then take them to my glass guy to get fit with mirrors....hopefully tomorrow.
Well, power came back on for our community around 6:00 PM. Mom's came back on around 8:30 PM. Community across the water isn't getting power for a few more days. Town up island of us has half the community with power off. Town over on the west side of the island is without power and a small community on an inlet on the west side hasn't had power since Sat. night. Friends of ours there had the storm destroyed their dock. Fortunately they had moved the boat somewhere else. It has been a wild couple of days.
Around here I hear Mejer has Turkey's for $0.31/pound...But my real question is, How come turkey is so cheap, but chickens are $5.00/pound???
Also: Cheap feed, mostly subsidized corn and soybeans. Crowded conditions, alleviated with heavy doses of antibiotics. Trivia: Current sex-starved mass market turkeys can't self-breed due to their breast size so eggs are produced via artificial insemination. Yeah, that chick producing factory must be an interesting operation.
