A guy at work just got a shiny dealer demo 290 for $350. Came with the 2 year warranty just like new. I'd say that 029 super might be worth $200.

Most buyers don't realize the 029 supers are the same displacement as the 290 - - the o29 is smaller.... For the money there are better options

I got lots of love for my 290, but knowing what I know now I would get a really nice used 036, 360/1/2 for what I paid for a new 290 last December. Live and learn. The 290 was my first real saw, and it was new, so she'll always have a place on my shelf. Plenty of time to add another saw to the stable.....11 is just not enough.

034s sell for 200-250 all day long in nice shape and will send a 029/290 cryin' to mama.

But with a new "farm boss" bar, that 029 Super will likely bring the asking price.

For the money you could get an 026 or 034. Or a husky 55r, 350 or 359. I paid less 250 for a ms361 with new 20" bar and chain at a dealer last year..

    Better deals are possible.

Depends on how nice. A well taken care of 036 that shows normal wear/flaws, nothing broken, most of the paint still on it etc. should pull in $3-350+. I've seen like new examples sell for over $500. Prolly more on eBay.

Usually a good bit more money given the same physical condition.

Still kick myself for missing that 044 on CL that came with 20/25/36 inch bars and all chains for $450.

Better deals are always possible but not for all people in all areas. Like a nice 075 with a 48" bar and chain for less than $50 invested. I have sold nice condition 034's for $275 PHO plus shipping and sold them very quickly. Mint 028 WB for $250 PHO plus shipping. Here's the under $50 075 on my back porch tonight.

I was referring to 275 for an o29.... Just have to watch the forum classifieds for a couple days to find a better deal.
