Broken fingers, hands, wrists. Especially on #2. And I don’t really see any of them being any easier or faster than a Fiskars
That thing is down right scary looking. You would not get me within 10 ft of that thing. I was waiting for the rope to get tangled into the spokes. Oh boy.
Yeah, I can't watch these videos. It's only a matter of time before an ER visit happens. Does it work? Sure. Is it safe? Hell no!!!
I agree the rope catching could truly kill you, the splitting part probably only broken fingers and bones.
Broken? Cleaved! #2 had gloves, hearing protection and Krocks. Gave me a little pucker to watch that.
Interesting comments and observations. In thinking about this...makes me wonder: Where does the passion and pure gumption come from to created contraptions like this. I mean.....these took some real ingenuity and thought to create. .....with no thought for your safety along the way. Interesting. .....and it's not like when you're done you put the cover on it and set it back in the shed.....like a Fiskars.
that big wheel one. what happens when a split lands cross ways and the operator doesn't get it out of the way before the next turn..
Whoever built that thing with the rope and that big dangerous wheel is dumber than dirt. It amazes me that anyone would try to use that thing to split wood.
Yes broken hands. The bigger problem would be finding the pieces. And the set-up at face/neck height is sheer (npi) brilliance.
Yeah, somewhere in that machine's future is a sad ending. Even if it's only a matter of growing back a couple of toenails.
Pacific NW know-it-all I'd guess. What happens when he trips over a piece at his feet and falls forward?
