Me, I'll just open up a can... Dinner.jpg
Just kidding! Husband & I, and my brother and wife, will have dinner with my mom at her nursing home. We can't get her up the steps to my house anymore, and the food there is pretty good.

Right where I want to be.
I think I see mashed taters, some gravy, some green stuff, and a couple more shades of brown stuff. Pretty darn tasty, I bet.:rofl:
We had a GTG last Sat. at our son's place a few hours south of us and most of my wife's extended family showed up. We're going back down there on Thurs., and we may just get some Chinese food or pizza.

I get to work, I am 24/7/365 on call. My days on and off are just that, no exceptions. I have missed the holidays since 1990. Every few years my days of align with a holiday. I have a great family that understands, we have our holidays when I have off.

    Happy Thanksgivings to everyone.

Mmmmmmm that dinner in a can turkey is probably as good as my mother in laws turkey.

You would think that she would be better at it after all these years.

Rats man. Glad you've got a family like that.

Nothing much for Thanksgiving for my bride and I but Sunday we get together with the extended family at my sister's.

My boys will be there so 2 out of 3 is pretty good. Enjoy the day everyone!

Low key for us. Going to my inlaws, just the 4 of us plus them and my wife's sister.

Rope I feel your pain on the work schedule. Not 24/7, but I often was on call for at least half of the major holidays for a lot of years. Its been 10 years since I last had to work on a holiday, and it still feels weird.

We are heading to our youngest sons place for Thanksgiving. Older son is heading to his inlaws. We are bringing the stuffing (grandkids insist on Grammy's stuffing) some home canned pickles and a few slices of the deer heart I cooked up on Monday.
Son and his two boys love deer heart sandwiches.

Hope everyone has a great turkey day with all the fixings. Spending time with fiends and family is what it is all about.

We invited our neighbor up so we'll be having a 20 pound turkey with a bunch of other gut filling goodies.

As a young lad Thanksgiving was at Maw Maw's house. Everyone who wanted to deer hunt meet at the camp before first light. Hunted to 1100, went to lunch, and watched collage football before heading out in the deer woods. My moms side is huge, was anywhere between 70-100 people. Everyone brought a meals worth of everything. You needed 3 cousins to buddy with for a single seat. One had to jump in a seat, the other 3 had to stager in the line that way you had a seat for lunch. Miss those times. After graduating High School, I have not had one damm Thanksgiving back. Would not trade my life for anything, but wish my kids would get to see what a big family holiday is like. They just see daddy armor up, strap on a gun and get to work. We have holidays on our time. We make the best of things. We usually get to have holidays early so things work out. Only 10 years till retirement, will pop smoke with 34 years. Good times are coming!

I hope all have a great holiday season and a happy new year.

Happy Birthday. Lots of us are in the same boat, making the best of what we do. I understand taking holidays. Before kids, I took all holidays, seemed to be the right thing to do. Your Thanksgiving sounds nice, enjoy. Thank you.
