A wild week. Too much travel time but not much can be done about distance and we did not want to fly. We first went to Firechief Steve's place in Illinois. Naturally it was a long trip and took a toll on the body but we got there. Spent a day with them but certainly not enough time. As stated in the other thread, we never even thought about the camera (we've done this before) so no pictures. Sorry guys. We did remember the camera when we got to Omaha but even then forgot to take many pictures. One habit I will be working on. But the best part of the whole trip was finally getting to see and hold our one and only great granddaughter! And what a peach she is. Oh how we wanted to bring her home with us like we used to do with her mother when she was young. She is very well behaved, talkative and loveable! But just wanted to let everyone know we are back and alive. Naturally a bit sore and I have not yet even been out to check on things like gardens, fruit trees, etc, etc. My sweetheart!
What a cutie Dennis! Did your daughter notice when you snuck the lil one out in one of your bags? Bet it feels good to be home. Nuthin like it.
Well, it hurts like crazy but still feels good being home again. It was just such a great feeling turning onto our road then turning into our driveway. Seeing those apple blossoms helps a lot too. I figured they would open while we were gone. Now we'll try to get things back to normal, whatever that is.
Glad the two of you had a safe trip and good times. Looking forward to your posts again. Tell the ornery one to have a yoopertastic Mothers day!
I'm sure sitting on your milk crate in front of your vertically positioned splitter will get everything in alignment again Dennis. Glad you got home and in one piece.
Didn't see this yesterday Dennis, so now that I have......welcome home. Not to worry about the pics, I've been remiss on that front quite a bit lately. Your great great great great granddaughter (wait a minute, how old ARE you) is a doll. No wonder you guys wanted to take her home. A couple of ours will probably be spending some time with us this summer, so I need to rest up for that. Definitely take some time to recuperate.
Great Grand Dad explaining the benefits of stacking neatly and using a milk crate while splitting. Great Grand Daughter can't believe how wise he is....................................
Wrong! Great Grand Daughter was reading a book to him trying to explain that bears won't really come into your house looking for porridge!
Great pics Dennis! Glad you were able to get out and see the Family! Hope hour traveling is contagious!
