I sold 17 cord in the last 6 weeks. I’m down to one cord of seasoned big leaf maple. But I’m in a state that is shutdown. But that’s enough wood sales for now anyway. I’m more concerned with getting more wood home to get split and seasoned for market in the fall. I sure wish I was sitting on 20 cord of logs I could get split over the next several weeks while we’ve been ordered to hole up in our houses. Darn the timing of pandemics.
Thanks man! I estimate it was around $4,999. Each bay holds about 6.5 cord. I could probably get 20 cord under it. One bay is for us and not for sale. I will pull from one side or the other year after year to eventually get mostly two year wood.
Yes. Per bay. Each bay holds 135w x 142d x 75h = 6.5 cord times 3 bays plus one cord on each end as option. At the moment it has 8.5 cord and a tractor under it.
And then you did the calcs! You couldn’t know by just looking at a tiny pic of it. It’s basically eight posts 12’ on center.
Any challenged "elders" recall a sliderule ? Still have my trusted K&E. If we could download the app for Flash, you could see it. Anyone ? That's pre auto Google or calculators.....the stoneage. Not that long ago that the artillery guys were using sliderules for calcs.
Dstrick Would you please define your numbers in this post. If I see them as being in 'feet', you would have (135X142X75)/128=11,232.42cords. I don't think you have that much wood in that pic.
I can use a slide rule and/or a counting frame/abacus, but why would I when I have an easy to use calculator on my phone, laptop, desktop and even my watch ?
11.25 x 11.83 x 6.25 I get 6.498 cord if I make the wild and crazy assumption that the numbers in parenthesis are in inches - like you would see if you used a long wind up tape rule.
