    I am currently looking for a MS 440/044 to a MS 460/046.

I built (with help from MasterMech) a new/old MS 360 for my buddy. It is a nice saw and runs great. But I should have been more attentive with his needs.

If anyone has one at a decent price and in decent shape please PM me.

The 360 is sold already and the funds are going towards a 70 cc class saw for my friend.

    Thanks everyone :)

What is your budget? Currently running or a project saw?

You never got a chance to run this 10mm 044 I have here in the garage. And once you do, you will buy two  . It is one of the strongest power to weight saws stock I have ever had in my hands, and I have just about ran them all. I bought it to sell a year or so ago, and needless to say I wouldn't even consider letting it go.

I know. . It sounds like a lie coming from me, but it's true. ;)

I built my buddy Joshmain, an MS 360 this past winter. I paid for everything on the saw. But in return, he did work for me at my house. For example, he ran a 220 line to my kitchen to convert the range from LP to Electric, Fixed the power issue I had in my barn (main breaker needed replaced), ran an extra HVAC duct to our bedroo, from the pellet furnace, helped me split and stack 3 cord of wood, and about 10 other things I can't think of right now.

The 360 ran rough at the FHC GTG. So I bought another cylinder for it and tried 3 or 4 different things to troubleshoot. It ended up just being a clogged air filter. Even though it looked o.k.? When put on the saw, it choked it down.

So long story long. . He wants to sell the 360 and buy a 460/440/441. Buy accident, I sold the MS 360 last week. So now we just need to buy one.

Budget is about $650 (plus or minus).

Here is the 360. It's about as clean as new old stock as you can get. Everything was replaced on this saw. Everything! !

Having fixed up the 6401/7901, I just put my 460 powerhead up on eBay yesterday at $525 (meaning I'll clear a little over $450 after fees). It runs great (when I don't make the mistake of trying to pull a 36" bar with an 8-pin rim :emb:) but it's not very pretty. Just tossing it out there...

Dex, any interest in a project saw? I have a decent condition 10mm 044 that's 100% complete, it just needs a cleaning & reassembly. I got it complete & original, but it was scored.

The cylinder cleaned up & I bought all new OEM:
    - piston kit
    - oil seals
    - fuel line
    - impulse line
    - base gasket
    - wrist pin needle cage
    - clutch drum needle cage

My plan is/was to flip it, but it got put on hold after disassembly & parts ordering. I'm just too busy right now & it's too low on the priority list.

PM me, or call this evening if you might be interested.

I passed on this 10 mm 044 that NTS has. I hope someone here gets it.

If the saw were for me? I would have bought it in an instant. But it's for my friend (Joshmain of this site), so I respect his wishes and decision. He wants a 460.. Or a 440/441. But he wants Flippies :) No screw cap.

Mine's out of the running; it sold overnight. I think it was a little ugly for a DexterDay Production anyhow.

For the money, I have had several nice contenders. But my buddy is the one who makes the call.

I like that they have all been well within the budget. But it's his saw and I have to respect that. He has more patience than I do. :)
