The old lady tested out the waffle iron, served them with hickory syrup. Wish I would have remembered it last night, they would have been Belgian (used to date a Belgian girl, still have the family recipe).

    Cool!

We picked up a pair of these Rome brand waffle irons at the Kittery Trading Post in Maine this summer for camping. We haven't seasoned them or tried them out yet but I'm thinking I might try them out on a bed of coals in the new stove. These are made by the same company that makes the mountain pie makers.

Looks good, Brian. I just realised I forgot to put up my pic. Those are eggs on the griddle, that's coffee in the bacon. Bacon is already on the plate, the eggs and waffles are being cooked in its grease. image.jpg
