Went over to my sisters today to clean her vent. Took the ESP out, ran the lint eater through one time. Pulled it back up and went for another run, and the plastic rod broke and got lodged in the pipe. Had to pull the clean-out off and taped a dish towel to the end of the rest of the rod and pushed it down. PIA!
damm Hoot...that sucks....sounds like one of my plumbing jobs, pull things apart, break something and it's back and forth to Lowes 5 times lol.....easy things ALWAYS turn into projects....
Same thing happened to me one time when I went to my girlfriends house⦠and she didn't even have a stove!
damm Hoot, real PITA for sure. At least it wasnt too drastic...and the fix was done without trips for parts
Always been afraid of breaking a lint eater or soot eater. Sounds like it wasn't fun at all. Glad it all worked out for ya.
I am afraid of breaking a linteater or soot eater rod also. Luckily the pellet stove run isn't too long.
I think it's working pretty good. Haven't checked out the cleanliness of the chimney yet but from what others have said it sounds like I am burning pretty clean...... Still enjoying the new pellet stove? I'd love to see one of those models in action. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for...an-do-you-think-i-am-burning.1459/#post-28947
aint had one break yet , but my dumb azz accidentally reversed the drill and unscrewed the brush inside the tube fortunately it wasnt too deep to the pipe and i was able to reach in and grab it and pull it out
I have actually managed to get mine stuck once. Cleaning the exhaust tube behind the ash pan, I pushed it all the way thru and into the clean out T portion of the venting, the brush expanded in the venting and dropped an inch or so to the point that I could not pull it back. Purposely unscrewed it and was able to reach it from the clean out cap.
