I started this last night with the roast and and veggies getting an overnight cooking. Tonight I shredded the roast, made smashed potatoes with a little rutabaga and converted the cooking liquids it a luscious gravy. Meal fit for a king! 20180614_235929.jpg 20180616_184943.jpg

Mike, that looks just like the last one I cooked in a slow cooker. :stirpot: I know it's yummy! Now I'm hungry. Great pic.

mike bayerl That looks great! I can't remember ever eating rutabaga but I would eat just about anything coupled with what yah got going on there!

mike bayerl As I have mentioned in the cast iron thread, I just got a Lodge deep cast iron skillet/pot with lid. It is a toss up whether the next meal I cook in it will be a pot roast similar to yours or beef stew. Waiting for a much cooler stretch of weather though. I can't stand the heat so I have to stay out of the kitchen. Wimp I guess.
