It split small and nice. Very clean but green. Have no idea the value. Looking to sell it but not a clue of its value

All depends on the market in the area you want to sell it. In our town you'd be lucky to get $150. Haul it 30 miles north to State College, you might get $200. Around the cties in the northeast, you could get $300.

Getting big dollars might be tough when green

    100 miles east of Pittsburgh.
30 miles south of Penn State.
Altoona area. We're in the mountains, so firewood sales aren't big money makers.

Welcome midwestguy1. Nice to have you on the board here.:handshake: I have burned Tons and tons of silver maple, cut maybe 100 cord of the stuff over the years, It grows like weeds out here. "Here", a full cord of silver Maple is $150.00. But, it's readily available. Hardwoods/Oaks are up in the $200.00+ ranges. A full cord of Hickory here is $250.00+

If you're going to market it on C-list or marketplace ask $150 and see what kind of lowball offers you get. Take the first $125. No bites ? Take $100.

Check those same venues for mixed hardwood prices and try for 50-66% of those going rates. You don't want to give it away just because it is green. Half of what is being sold as "seasoned" is often not very well seasoned.
Oak that normally sells for $250-$275 a "seasoned" cord here often sells for around $190 green/fresh cut and split. or about 75% discount.

Gotta get something for the cut and split time.

I worked for trees companies then started trimming trees on my own. More and more I m doing bigger jobs. I split everything I cut elm,Ash, oak hedge..... I split almost every night for past 3 yrs. Give to friends or trade. Elm is another I get alot of that never attempted to sell. I split it but normally burn in firepit. Never keep to season it. I think I will try an ad on Craigslist for green wood appreciate the feedback. I split wood as a hobby and enjoy it almost need to. when I don't for more than a day my body and mind let me know. selling cheap is ok with me been doing it for free for while anyways. Think it's the loading and stacking I don't like.

Where I live, People will sell petrified Dog $#!T and make $$$ on it! Silver maples here are very abundant "especially" after a Nor-easter storm which we get a couple times a year here. Sandy soil and shallow roots make for easy blow overs! Because it's a large portion of the wood source here, I've maybe burned 100+ cord of it over the years. I had about 15+ cord in the yard, several years back and burned it for 3 straight years, "nothing but"... I'm still burning it.

Welcome to the forum, Im a newbie myself. I started selling wood on CL in Dec, as i had more than i needed and need the room for the seemingly never ending wood that i scrounge. Like said above start at a certain level and drop your price. I only do half cords with a standard PU to deliver. Most recreational burners dont care as long as its hardwood and more importantly its seasoned. Being very abundant and tough to split by hand i pass on it when offered.

You never see anyone selling silver maple here either. It's mixed in with "mixed hardwoods" which is usually everything but oak and I've seen a couple guys selling black cherry as a standalone. Kinda pricy too, dunno what that's all about but there must be a market for cherry.

I have a tree i cut up that ithought was an elm. It's much tougher to split than eln. Wood is lighter in color. Lady thought it was hackberry. It's brutal and would like to know what it is. I m gonna take couple pics and post.
