This is something Ive seen on other boards and like. Each user has their own photo gallery they can post pictures to. One of the galleries called "attachments" is auto generated and any photo you ever post in a thread links there automatically. Probably a basic feature (or lack of) in the xenforo software you guys might have no control over but worth a look...
It looks like it can be done with an addon, but I will need @Scotty Overkill to help since I can't download addons.
I think thats a good idea too. Collecting pics and adding to your individual profile would make things easier and I think more members would enjoy visiting each other's profile page to see their stuff....
I created an album but it said there are no images so I tried again. Now I have 2. I didn't see a way to delete one of them. Also, it appears you can only upload from an outside hosting site. Can we not load directly from our computer?
OK, nothing wrong with the permisions, I just started an album on a non-staff account (yes, I have one that I use for testing things like this). I took some screen shots to walk you through it. Step on- Create an album. The text box here is for descriptions and such, it is not where the pictures typically go. Once the album is created, click "Manage Images." Then click on upload an image. Then your image will show up in the album.
I am hoping to see some user albums posted when I get home from work tonight. I think this could be a really cool feature.
Cool, I just found this. So, what if we decide to add pics to an album that we've already posted in a regular thread? Aren't there space constraints? There are some of us who post lots of pics (myself included). Am I concerned over nothing?
One thing I will mention is for everyone to keep in mind that your pictures are visible not only to members, but to guests as well.....so you may want to keep pictures that you want to keep personal off of the boards....just an FYI.
Both the hotspots, now called Map or Member Map, and the Albums have been moved into the Members tab.
Pretty nifty feature. Kudos to the team. Set up my experimental album; is it for wood burning/cutting related only or for everything?
However you want to use it,'within good judgement. This is a family friendly forum and unless you set the album to private everyone can see what you posted. Nothing hateful, obscene, racists, sexist, etc. If you wouldn't post it on the forum, please don't post it in your album.
I tweaked it a little bit, rename the button for making new albums and uploaded a ton of pics. Wow, I am really liking this!
Cool... The screenshots helped as I didnt think to look in the user menu at first. I created my own album and added a bunch of house photos.
