Got out this morning after it stopped raining and got some more done until saw stopped cause roller tip on bar seized up, I figured out what was going on and ripped it apart and cleaned and got it rolling again then had to figure out which way the chain went back on :picard:... Did some more and am making progress....The pile of the cut rounds is about 10 feet long by 5 ft. wide by maybe 3 1/2 ft. tall now...

    Great work on the wood!

Hopefully you didn't find out how poorly the saw cut (smoked) with the chain on backwards.

That wouldn't even work on the southern hemisphere. ;)

milleo, should that happen again with the tip seized, most times you can get it going again without having to remove the chain. Get the saw close to a log and have the bar close to the tip so that when you drop the saw down and push it forward (in one motion) and hit the throttle at the same time, you can get it loose. In effect, you are using the saw motor and your motion with the chain on the log and shoving it all at the same time so it will break free. Usually there is just a small bit of chip or sawdust in there. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times but most times the chain will start moving again and all is well. (Hope I explained that so it makes sense.)

Stuff happens.... you might want to make an H-buck - the time spent making it will offset the time saved cutting on this load.

When you finally figured out that the drill was in reverse did you feel like, Duh! We have all done some crazy things and when we figure it out and ask ourselves how didn't I know that? At least you're man enough to admit it. I think the stupidest thing I ever did was walk face first into a parking meter downtown when I was 13 years old or so checking out a girl across the street, Duh!

Maybe we should start a "Dumb things I did forum"

I already admitted the dumbest thing I ever did. But think about being 13 again and the opposite sex was all you thought about. At least at my age now I can walk into my local Stihl dealer and not walk into anything, must be I am getting better with age.
