We have a friend and his wife that we do yard work for and go out with occasionally. They just sold her home place as both parents have passed on. Never met her dad, he has been gone for several years. He said he had something in an orange box I might be interested in. We stop by yesterday afternoon and he gives me this... Has carry case and spare chain. Don't know how long it's been sitting, but must have been stored right. Put some gas in it, a few pulls , and it fired up... Hope it and the Stihls don't figbt in the shed...lol
I found out her dad passed away in 2012 and hadn't been able to use it for a few yrs before that. I don't know if anyone else had ran it. Any idea how old it might be?
I told my friend they were trying to convert me......his dad gave us an almost new Husky trimmer. His back wouldn't let him run it.
Nice, daddy had 65, I think. Ran it in the late '70's, until I lost it off the back his 1 ton truck...I was and turned in a road...it was aday when I had to tell him.
I’ll guess it’s a 94 Nice saw Impulse set up is odd. Make sure the yellow grommet is in good shape. That’s a leaker. I think some of the 55’s are closed port transfers. That would be nice
Thats why I asked about the deco valve...usually closed port...either way it's a nice gift just be sweeter if it was closed
That is a cool saw. Don't worry about any fighting in the shed if you treat them all the same they will all get along just fine.
I brought the Husky to work with me today, had some time to take it apart and clean it a bit. Here is the serial number, if that will help on the age Since I'm not familiar with Husky's, here is the bar #'s... I figured it as .325 pitch, 78 drive links, .058 gauge, 20" bar... What would the type mount be, if I wanted to get an Oregon or preferably a Stihl bar?
As mentioned, be careful about air leaks. Those rubber parts on the intake side can become brittle. It would be cheap insurance to replace the impulse nipple and intake boot. Very reliable saws otherwise. Yep, you got the chain/bar specifics right.
Thing looks nice! Sticking with 1994 Muffler is hardly blued. Be careful torquing that air filter mount if you go that far. Only the plastic division wall is providing female threads. And the’ll strip pretty easy. The Wood Wolverine has a nice fix in cleated nuts if you need it.
