Hey all, I picked up this axe head from an estate sale. The poll was apparently mushroomed because at some point it was touched up. Does anyone know about these heads it has some writing all I can make out is FS?? I hafted it and makes a good splitter

Probably not an antique collectable axe. It look to be a fairly good axe,. The finish is good with no mold flashing. With the back face upsetting while edge cuts well it could even be differently heat treated.

Good steel, good edge, good axe. Much better than the India imports all over.
