Recently joined as a board member for a local group that manages a chunk of non-motorized trails. I have been their sawyer for a few years now. Got some snow last week, so my wife, youngest son and I hiked 2.5 miles and cleared out the down trees. Definitely felt it while carrying the ms271, gallon of fuel, oil, hatchet, wedges, etc. Nice day out, the ccc had worked on the trails, really pretty out. 9F9CCD20-B39C-4519-BB7F-22139CF777A9.jpeg D8231CDE-B80A-4F3C-99DC-D24F8E253519.jpeg 4B44C363-C6E9-422E-9822-3776C78B4F96.jpeg CC26765B-9F7B-43FC-B646-54562A264823.jpeg 73C9962D-87ED-43DB-A310-AC75AC096D6B.jpeg

    Nice looking area.

Are you able to move any of that wood out, easily?

Nice. It was 14 degrees this morning when I woke and I’m seeing pics of you sawing in a short sleeve shirt. C’mon spring!

Nice work Reddingnative , it's always nice when you're done clearing some trails, it might not seem like much when someone walks up the trail but when you see what was there at first and the trails after, it's a nice feeling.

I could get some of it out pretty easily. Honestly I have another area I cut at, so this was simply relaxing to just zip the offending trees and kick them to the side. It’s a line between leaving things natural and lowering the fuels in the area. I might pick up some wood later this month when we clean up and do a burn day. Can’t stand to see it tossed in a burn pile!

The area is right next to Clear creek, which is darn near a river. Great in the summer heat, really rewarding to use it all summer and see families out there. Btw it was about 70 on Sunday! Definitely warming up in spring time.

Reddingnative Good for you! There are folks who volunteer their time and help so many people out without any recognition. I was tired just reading your post. Thank you!
